Who are Payment Assist?
We’re a UK-based finance provider offering interest-free payment plans to help spread the cost of vehicle repairs, services, tyres, and more. Our goal is to make motoring more manageable and affordable.
Am I eligible for finance?
To be eligible, you must be over 18, a UK resident, and have a debit card in your name. Plans are subject to a quick affordability check.
How can I find garages or retailers that offer Payment Assist?
You can use our Marketplace to search for approved garages and dealers that offer our finance options near you.
Which cards do you accept?
We accept most UK debit cards. Unfortunately, we do not accept credit cards or prepaid cards.
What payment plans do you offer?
Our most popular options are our 3, 4 and 6 month interest-free plans, where you pay 25% upfront and the rest over equal monthly instalments. Some retailers also offer longer interest bearing plans, 12 months and beyond, depending on the purchase value and agreement terms.
Can I have more than one plan at a time?
Yes, you can, subject to approval. Each application is assessed on its own merits.
How are my payments taken?
Your payments are automatically taken from the same debit card used to set up the plan. No action needed, just make sure there are sufficient funds on your payment dates.
Will you run a credit check?
No credit check is required for plans up to £1,000. For higher amounts, we perform a soft affordability check that won’t affect your credit score. If your loan is interest bearing, we will conduct a hard credit search which may impact your credit score.
Can I change my payment date or pay early?
Yes. You can request a date change or settle your plan early by contacting our support team. We’re here to help make your plan flexible.
How will I know if my credit agreement has started?
You’ll receive a confirmation email as soon as your plan is live, along with your payment schedule and agreement details.
What if I can’t make a payment this month?
Contact us as soon as possible. We understand circumstances change, and we’ll work with you to find a solution.

Will I be asked any security questions when applying?
Yes, for your safety, you may be asked to confirm some personal details during the application process.
